Start of my block leave

7 Sep 2005.

Went early in the morning for music audition at MDC (Music n Dance Company) at Nee Soon Camp.

Need Soon Camp was bigger than I expected, and I had to ask for directions. Meet an Systems Admin over there, he brought me to his office, introduced me to his team, and his officer brought me over to SAF Bands office. But Bands and MDC are not the same, and I continued my way finding for the auditorium at MDC.

At mdc, they asked me what I was auditioning for, I didn’t really know either, so I played the violin and viola for my audition by the chamber ensemble people.

After audition, I went over to the army market. Want to get a Maglite Flashlight for my brother, but instead got a 21 LED torchlight and a mini one. (Here’s a webby on LED torches)

Sidetracked..[
If my interest in some electronics down in primary school don't fail me, LED stands for Light Emitting Diode.

Why I wanted to buy the LED torch, in my imagination has these few advantages.

  • Same amount of batteries would turn the lights on much longer
  • No more blown bulbs
  • Gives a strong bright white light
  • Even Singapore has converted all its traffic lights to LED types from what I observe
  • Its small

Thinking of it, I created my own LED torch back in Pri 3. Created with only a red led, matchbox, aluminium foil, rubber band, I brought it to school to show off my invention. I will remember my form and science teacher who was so supportive of me even though I one of the "baddest" pupils in class.

Went home, played Max Payne 2, had dinner, read a little from the book “TIME Goes to War”. In the night I went to a wake of an elderly church member.
