Today I took a trip to visit the new National Library. Although its seems to be the biggest building for libraries in Singapore, you might be a little disappointed there. The main library is like the size of NTUC supermarkets found in shopping center basement.
Aligned at Doby dought, this the first time I noticed a number of photos of historic buildings on the walls underground. There I learnt some historic importance of Plaza Singapura, MPH, YMCA, National Library…
Thinking about it, Libraries and Reading was one my pastimes. My interest in programming spawn when I was 10 due to some programming books I stumbled at the then AMK Community Library.
After I moved to a new house in Yishun, the Linear distance between my home and library was no more than 50m.
From secondary days, I spent large amount of time (canteen breaks and after school time) in the library. In sec 2 to 4, I became a librarian there.
After secondary school, I must have made some effort visiting almost all NLB branches in Singapore at least once.
Some interesting books I stumped upon.
Some WWII books with photos.
