He died because herod killed him
i think john the baptist died because he was preaching the truth.There was a king that had a belly dancer that was a very good belly dancer. So the king asked the belly danccer what she wanted out of the whole kingdom. She went home and asked her mother what should she ask for.She replied to her taht she should ask ffor the head of john the baptist. So she went back to the king and told him what she wanted. so the next day after she told the king what she wanted john the baptist was beheaded. my main resource was the king james versin bible.
John the Baptist, the forerunner and a cousin of Jesus Christ was beheaded by king Herod because John told Herod the truth about Herod and Herodias, Herod’s sister-in-law and wife. Herod’s lusted for his wife’s daughter, and promised her anything she wanted when she danced for him at a feast. After her dance, Herod asked her what she wanted to even half of his kingdom. Salome asked her mom, Herodias, what should she ask. Herodias, angry with John and his preaching the truth, told her daughter to ask for John’s head on a silver platter. The Baptist, who was already in jail, head was grusomely put on a silver platter, without it’s body and taken to Salome. Later, Salome was beheaded herself by falling into some ice.
